About Jämtland field hunters 1645–1901

The first Jämtland regiment to be established was Thomas Gärffeldt's regiment, named after its first commander in 1646. Jämtland and Härjedalen had just become Swedish territory after the Peace of Brömsebro in 1645.

The collection contains a number of columns with information about each individual soldier. Here you can find out their name, year of birth, year of death, military rank, when they were enlisted and discharged, whether they were killed in action or taken prisoner, etc.
