What the painting had hidden for over 150 years

The painting "View of Scheveningen Sands," was created by Hendrick van Anthonissen around 1641. It hangs in the Fitzwilliam Gallery in Cambridge, England and belongs to the collection Masterpieces of the Dutch Golden Age. Until now, the subject was simply groups of people gathered on a beach in The Hague in the Netherlands.
