More and more newspapers are making their obituaries searchable online. Did you forget to cut out an obituary from Aftenposten? Did you know that you can search for it on aftenposten.no?
Every day around 15-20 obituaries are posted, and you can search by name, publication date and location. It seems that Aftenposten leaves the ads for 12 months before they are removed.
If you need an obituary that is older than this, you can either subscribe to Aftenposten's archive or visit your nearest library. All the country's libraries will have access to the entire rich archive of Aftenposten, fully searchable all the way back to 1860, thanks to the National Library's digitization project.
