The choice eventually fell on the catalog system <a href=\"http:\/\/www.sigsiu.net\/sobi2.html\">SOBI2<\/a> which enables a number of additional functions, which I will come back to.<\/p><div class=\"slekt-innhold_2 slekt-entity-placement\" style=\"float: right;\" id=\"slekt-2097762016\"><div class=\"slekt-adlabel\">--Advertisement--<\/div><div id=\"slekt-2221035459\"><script async src=\"\/\/pagead2.googlesyndication.com\/pagead\/js\/adsbygoogle.js?client=ca-pub-4064624966162732\" crossorigin=\"anonymous\"><\/script><ins class=\"adsbygoogle\" style=\"display:inline-block;width:336px;height:280px;\" \ndata-ad-client=\"ca-pub-4064624966162732\" \ndata-ad-slot=\"4473708690\"><\/ins> \n<script> \n(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); \n<\/script>\n<\/div><\/div>\n<p>Of course, it wasn't just a matter of starting to enter records; the system first had to be adapted to the Norwegian alphabet. Fortunately, we found expertise in this at the web company <a href=\"http:\/\/www.webverksted.no\/\">Web workshop<\/a> and after some testing, the alphabetization was in order. SOBI2 is essentially a directory for registering information about different companies\/businesses, but thanks to an open solution, it was painless to turn it into an overview of genealogical literature. <\/p>\n<p>The overview is not intended as a one-way communication, but allows both comments and rating of the different books\/articles. If you want to monitor releases for a specific name, this is also possible using RSS (<a href=\"slektslitteratur?sobi2Task=rss&#038;no_html=1&#038;catid=1153\">example<\/a>).\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>There is also a separate feedback system that makes it easy to provide feedback regarding the individual record. Under each item there is a \u00abReport error\u00bb link, where you can quickly and easily give feedback to Slekt1 if something needs to be corrected.<\/p>\n<p>To date, only a \u00abmodest\u00bb 2,500 records have been entered into the system and we estimate that this accounts for around 20% of the final (provisional) number. The production of genealogy books\/articles has perhaps never been greater than what we have seen in the last decade. The Internet and PCs have made the production of such material possible to a far greater extent than before.
