Each village has its own newly written genealogy, sorted by cadastral yard and utility number. Most people with ties to Stryn will find information about family and relatives here. The author has reviewed a large amount of historical source material that provides detailed knowledge about settlement and living conditions. In addition, the villagers themselves have contributed information to ensure that the book is as accurate and up-to-date as possible. The genealogy begins around 1850 and has been kept up to date.

Strynesoga er den nye bygdeboka som omfattar gardar og bygder i Stryn kommune. Kvar bygd har fått si eiga temadelte bygdesoge, som omfattar alt i frå arkeologiske funn frå førhistorisk tid til den allmenne utviklinga i nyare tid. Tematisk spenner bygdesogene frå stadnamn, folketalsutvikling og næringshistorie, til utviklinga av organisasjonar, skulestell og kulturliv. Kvar bygd har fått si nyskriven slektssoge, sortert etter matrikkelgardar og bruksnummer. Her vil dei fleste med tilknyting til Stryn finne opplysningar om familie og slekt. Forfattaren har gått gjennom eit stort historisk kjeldemateriale som gjev detaljert kunnskap om busetnad og levekår. Dessutan har bygdefolket sjølve bidrege med opplysningar, så bokverket skal bli så rett og oppdatert som mogeleg. Slektssoga tek til rundt 1850 og er ført fram til dags dato.
