Slekt1 is continuing its work to transcribe the car books that were published before the war. Now you can look up 1,990 car owners from Østfold, information that could lead you in a new direction or at least add some spice to your family history.
The City of Oslo has already been transcribed. This section contains just over 11,000 car owners, who had their car registered in Oslo in 1925.
You can search in the Car Book from 1925:
- Owner's name and title/occupation, if applicable
- Place of residence (in some cases, you will also be given the exact street address here)
- The make of the car and what it was used for
- The car's registration number
In parallel with the transcription of Bilboka from 1925, we are also transcribing Norway's cars from 1935. For both periods, Oslo and Østfold are now made searchable. The next publication will be for Akershus in 1935.
In both 1925 and 1935, very many cars were registered in Akershus, so it will now take some time before the next batch of car owners is made searchable here on Slekt1. Thereafter, the counties will be published somewhat faster, as there will also be fewer car owners in the other counties.
In Norway cars from 1935 you can search:
- Owner's name and title/occupation, if applicable
- Place of residence (in some cases, you will also be given the exact street address here)
- The make of the car and what it was used for
- Car model year
- The car's registration number
