The 1930 census focused on income and wealth

While the 1920 census focused specifically on housing conditions, the 1930 census focused more on how much people earned and what their wealth was. According to the census, there were major differences between incomes in rural and urban areas, and married women were excluded as ”they are usually not separately identified”.
