Flash for iPad?

It's probably common knowledge that Apple doesn't allow content using Flash on its platforms, such as iPad and iPhone. However, the developer of Flash, Adobe, is now breaking new ground to open up access to Apple products as well.

Last week, Adobe released an update to Flash Media Server that supports streaming videos to Apple's iOS devices. However, Apple continues to encourage developers of so-called apps (applications for iPad and iPhone) to adopt web standards such as CSS, JacaScript and HTML5. For those of us who are tired of constantly upgrading the flash version for PC, Apple's encouragement is probably tempting, even though the flash ban means that users miss out on, for example, many video services and flash games online.

Adobe's new quasi-solution will only allow streaming of flash-based video services. Games, ads and animations that need flash will still be unavailable for iOS devices.
