Haakenstad in the app market

Haakenstad writes on genit.no that the application is “(...) intended for genealogists working in the field.” It has a note, image and map function. One of the fun things about NorSlekt is that the notes are assigned the GPS coordinates of the place where you write them. For example, if you travel around and interview older relatives or visit places where your family has been active, you can also systematize your notes by location.

The app is part of the “Norwegian Genealogy” project, where she wants to raise funds to have a book on Norwegian genealogy translated into English.

NorSlekt is also available in an English version, under the name NorAnc. The English app also has some facts about Norwegian genealogical sources.

Both apps work on the latest iPhone, 3rd and 4th generation iPod touch and iPad.
