This second volume in the series comes two years after the publication of the first volume, which covered Randabygda, Hopland, Fjelli, Blakset, Markane and Faleide. Now the local history continues with a focus on Tistam, Utvik and Innvik, much to the delight of history buffs in the municipality and beyond.

Strynesoga is a journey through Stryn's history and family. The book documents farms and villages in Stryn municipality.

The work gives each village its own thematically divided rural history, ranging from archaeological finds from prehistoric times to social development in modern times, focusing on place names, population development, business history, organizational life, schools and cultural life.

A highlight for readers of Slekt1 i Strynesoga is the newly written family history for each village. This section is systematically organized by cadastral farms and utility numbers, and is a treasure trove for anyone with a connection to Stryn. Readers can find information about their own family and relatives, starting around 1850 and up to the present day.

Author Gaute Losnegård has done an extensive job of collecting and interpreting historical sources, which provide a detailed insight into settlement and living conditions through the ages. In addition, the villagers themselves have contributed information, ensuring an accurate and up-to-date picture of the local community.

Strynesoga is more than just a village book - it's a collection that links past and present and provides new insights into both family and history. An invaluable source for anyone who wants to learn more about Stryn's rich past.

The book is published by Stryn Historielag and extends over 600 pages.
