This is possible because Flickr's search engine also allows you to search in the text that is tagged (metatext) on the various images. A quick test on the name «Ragna Stang», from Sogn og Fjordane, showed her pictured as a child, during her education and as a chorister. Perhaps you're even pictured on Flickr without knowing it?
In this case, the images come from the county archive in Sogn og Fjordane, which has posted approx. 300 images from the old days.
