Editorial committee member Hans Peder Pedersen tells Folkebladet that the book's implementation has been slightly different from how most rural books are made. In the book, people who are not professionals and have no journalistic background have been given the chance to write articles and content for the book.
The two previous volumes of the village book were written by Arthur Brox and published in 1959 (volume 1) and 1965 (volume 2) respectively. The two municipalities of Berg and Torsken in Troms county now have a total of three village books, where two volumes deal with cultural history and one volume (volume 1) takes a closer look at farm history.
