Allslekt invites you to volunteer to update cemetery maps

Spring is approaching and the Allslekt website is now encouraging people across Norway to help update the maps of the country's cemeteries. The project, which aims to create as complete an overview as possible, is seeking help from volunteers to collect and update map information.

Allslekt already has a number of maps available, but wants to ensure that these are up to date and accurate. To do this, they are asking people to help by scanning or photographing paper maps, taking photos of notice boards with maps at cemeteries, or contacting church offices to get copies of the maps. In addition, people are encouraged to share links to websites that contain relevant map information.

The files or links can be sent to arkiv@afdh.no.

«Let's make the maps more complete before the sun and heat set in,» is the call from Allslekt.

The spirit of volunteerism is strong in Norway, and this is an opportunity for history and genealogy enthusiasts to contribute important documentation.

For more information, interested parties can visit the Allslekt website and join the effort to preserve historical cemetery data.
