Recently, Bilboka 1928 was transcribed and made searchable along with other car books here at Slekt1. Bilboka provides a unique insight into early automotive history in Norway, whether you want to spice up your own family history or are simply interested in old cars.
The 1928 registration contains a total of 33,429 entries and helps to show how the number of cars on Norwegian roads increased in the pre-war period.

By gathering information from national and regional vehicle registers in a joint search, it is now possible to gain unique and rapid access to track vehicles and vehicle owners over time. How long did my great-grandfather actually own that Ford? Did he buy it used?
With the completion of Bilboka 1928, it is now possible to search for a total of 385,213 vehicles on Slekt1, primarily from the period before World War II.
In the 1928 Car Book, you can find information such as registration number, name, location, what the car was used for (type), and car brand. It is free to search for names and registration numbers, but for further information, you must have a subscription to Slekt1, which contributes to the operating costs associated with the website.
If you don't already have a subscription, you can sign up for one here.
