We had initially planned to obtain such data from public sources, but the Freedom of Information Act does not allow this for the post-war period. That is why we are completely dependent on information from individual families. Families/individuals who have moved away but who have become aware of the case through this process are also asked to get in touch.

The source material for this comprehensive chapter was a simple questionnaire, in which all households in the villages were asked to fill in basic life cycle data for living and deceased family members from the post-war period to the present day; i.e. name, year of birth and, if applicable, year of death, occupation, current place of residence in case of relocation, etc.

Now there is a serious risk that such a chapter will not be produced. All registered households have been sent a form, which only takes a few minutes to fill out. Many forms have been returned, but quite a few are still missing. Reminders and advertisements in the local newspaper have yielded some results, but we are still missing too much of this basic material.

In such a situation, it is of course easiest and perhaps most appropriate to omit the entire chapter, because as much as 25% of the information is missing. However, it would be a major setback for the new local history book if the family history section had to be omitted, or if the decision was made to publish a product in which many families were left out. It is precisely the family history sections of local history books that are the reason why such books can be found in most homes.

We therefore strongly urge everyone who not  have completed and submitted the questionnaire to do so as soon as possible. Please feel free to contact us if you have any questions! The form has been sent
