Review from Nordre Land municipality: This is the story of hamlets, homes and families in Nordsinni - a part of Nordre Land that in the Middle Ages was called Vestsinni. Today, most travelers experience Nordsinni as a stretch of road between Dokka and the border with Valdres. This book is the first in a series of village books for Nordre Land, the aim of which is both to present the most important developments in the history of the local area in hamlet chapters and then to include every family and every settlement that is known through written sources up to a time that is close to the present day. The farm community was the cornerstone of the old local community. At the same time, the number of residences outside the farms themselves has been in the majority for 200 years, and the genealogical records in a publicly paid village book must include the entire population. The cover photo shows a log drive by Kåre Ulimoen, Ulimoen, April 1993.
