Sea people and fjord people

Sunnfjord is home to three peoples - the sea people, the fjord people and the valley people - and the first two are found in Askvoll municipality. In this second volume of the general history of Askvoll, we follow the sea people and the fjord people from around 1865 to the present day: Developments in population, industry, fishing, agriculture, healthcare, politics, cultural life, public services and many other topics. The book is divided into five sections, each covering a different period: 1865-95, 1895-1940, World War II, 1945-80 and 1980-2010.
