It is perhaps too much to say that genealogy has become an equipment hunt, as can be said of many other leisure activities. However, there's no getting away from the fact that doing genealogical research today requires more than paper, pencil and the ability to get to a library or archive. Wireless networks, for example, are something we use every day to our delight and annoyance, but now wireless networks are no longer just wireless networks.
