- I have realized that not all of these were related to me, but many. But my ancestors come from Ueland in Varhaug, and the genealogy starts with Tollak Tollakson Ueland born in 1829, who on April 22, 1862 marries Anna Pedersdatter born in 1837. Together they had five children.

The eldest of the children, Anna Kristine, married Lars Olson Bø from Ogna in 1885. They took over the farm of Lars' parents and left behind six children. The descendants here today call themselves Herredsvela, Tjensvoll, Rygg, Øksnevad, Fuglestad and Opstad, and live in Randaberg, Sandnes, Egersund, Nærbø and Brusand, among other places. Child number two was named Tollef Ueland.

In 1892, he married Ane Svendsdatter from Varhaug. They lived all their years on Ueland, and left behind ten children. Ane and Tollef were Bjørn's great-grandparents. Child number three was named Peder Ueland and was born in 1871. In 1898, he married Alette Hansdatter Kindervåg from Ogna. When she died, Peder married for the second time to Ingeborg Marie Olsdatter Frøyland. Peder was a carpenter in Bryne for all his years. He died in 1963 at the age of 92, leaving behind eleven children, almost all of whom live in Rogaland. Tollak and Anna's fourth child was Gabriel Ueland, born in 1873. In 1896, he married Anna Mathiasdatter Sirevåg from Ogna. For many years, Gabriel ran his father's farm at Ueland together with his brother Tollef. Gabriel and Ane left behind ten children. Tollak and Anna had a fourth son, whom they named Lars. He died at birth.

Today, most of the farms at Ueland in Varhaug are inhabited by people who all belong to this family.

The descendants of the brothers Tollef, Peder and Gabriel Ueland are mostly found living in the area from Rennesøy in the north, Tau and Oltedal in the east and Egersund in the south. There is also a small colony in Kongsberg, Hvittingfoss, Moss, Hamar and Trondheim.

Bjørn is the fifth generation after Anna and Tollak Tollakson Ueland.

The genealogy overview consists of about 250 pages and contains over 432 photos of family members, and counts more than 860 names of people who are all related.

- "I've come into contact with a lot of nice people who have helped me with names and photos. This won't make me rich in terms of money, but it will make me rich in terms of my conscience, knowing that I've made a solid contribution to our descendants," concludes Bjørn Boge.
