We have now added a new collection that allows you to search for relatives among 3000 patients at Kurhuset in Östersund.
Between 1817 and 1866, there was a treatment center in Östersund, Sweden, called Kurhuset. This treatment center played a key role in the Swedish government's efforts to eradicate the venereal disease syphilis.
Among the patients, we primarily find people from the peasantry, possibly because more affluent Swedes received more discreet treatment and protocols.
When you search the patient records, you will find patients from 0-100 years, several children were hospitalized with their parents with the same disease (syphilis).
The treatment center also treated other conditions such as chronic alcohol poisoning, hypochondria, hysteria, melancholia, as well as bone fractures, headaches, fever and chills.
Through the collection «Patients at the Kurhuset in Östersund 1817-1866» you can learn about; name, title, year of birth (estimate based on age), age, illness, treatment, treatment time, when admitted, when discharged, any relatives (family) and place of residence.
In addition, we have included serial numbers, archives and volumes.
You can look up the names and dates of patients for free, but access to other information about the inmate requires a subscription here at Slekt1.
