In the summer, Slekt1 created its own fan page on Facebook. This page is now approaching 100 followers and can reveal a little about the gender and age of those who visit Slekt1. As many as 64 % of Facebook followers are women and 691 % of visitors (regardless of gender) are over 45 years old, in fact only 11 % of Facebook followers are under the age of 34. The statistics also show that, on average, each visitor visits more than 5 subpages every time he/she visits Slekt1. In other words, that's another big number to celebrate; more than one half a million page views since its inception.
What time of day is Slekt1 visited?
Primarily (of course) people from Norway visit Slekt1, but other nationalities often drop by too. This helps to keep the site alive throughout the day, although there is naturally far less activity at night. As you can see below, the absolute peak is between 20:00 and 22:00.
Responsible operation
Thanks to positive figures from the statistics and advertising revenues that have gradually proved to cover the site's annual expenses, Slekt1 will continue to operate. Of course, there is no denying that daily maintenance is still characterized by volunteering and contributions in all forms are warmly welcomed.
The numbers will continue to rise
The reason why this can be said with such certainty is that over 60 % of visitors are new visitors. In fact, only just over 13 % of visitors have entered https://slekt1.com in the address bar. The rest have found the website using links (from other websites) or via search engines. 1/3 of all visitors come exclusively via Google!
What's more, we're entering the peak season for genealogy. With 2 years of statistics to show, the trend is clear. Unsurprisingly, the winter months are the most active time of year for genealogy, with January standing out.
