The death of physical books is exaggerated

The idea that books will be obsolete in a few years« time may be exciting, but it has little basis in reality. However, the technology is already here. There are tablets that simulate today's paper so well that reading digital texts is not as tiring as it used to be. However, there is a big »but" here: large parts of the population are not ready to use this technology.

We have been living with digital technology for a long time, but surprisingly many people still do not master the technology. Internet courses for older people are being organized across the country, but many are not even ready to start using the internet. In other words, society as a whole is not ready for a purely digital media environment.

Even in 20 years, printed local history books will still be produced, but perhaps, as with the local history books from Hole in Buskerud. These are available in both printed and digital editions.
