– But my great-grandfather Adolf Olsen Stranda was born and raised in Holet, and was the youngest of eight siblings. This family tree starts with Ole Andreas Kristoffersen, born on May 26, 1838. He married Anna Andreasdatter, born in 1840, on July 13, 1863. We believe Anna came from Vekan on Nabeita on Frøya, and Ole is thought to have originated from Småviken on Sør-Dyrøy. Ole and Anna settled in Holet on Norddyrøy, Frøya, around 1863.
The eldest of the children, Anna Pauline Markusen, was born in 1864 and married Johan Markusen. They settled at Kvalværet north of Sætra on Norddyrøy and had eight children. Most of them remained at Kvalværet and never married. Their descendants are now known by names such as Sjårud, Bekken, Bremnes, and Riiber.
The second child was named Christine and married Ove Laksholm, settling in Mausen. Ove and Christina had nine children, and their descendants are now scattered from Kirkenes in the north to Seattle in the United States. Some still live in Mausen, some in Ørland, and many live south of Trondheim.
The third child was named Maria Arntsen, married to Petter Arntsen Dyrø from Sørdyrøy. He was the son of Peter Jensen Huss. They had twelve children. They lived most of the time on Døggersøya, a small island off the coast of Sætra on Norddyrøy. Two of the children emigrated to the USA, two settled in Trondheim, one in Åfjord, two in Sweden, one in Ålesund, one in Storfosna, one in Sortland, and one in Kyrksæterøra. After Maria died, Petter remarried and eventually moved to Støm on Hitra.
The five youngest, who were all boys, settled in Hullet on Norddyrøy. They were Ulrik Olsen, Karl Olsen, Ole Olsen, Marius Olsen, and Adolf Olsen. Ulrik, Ole, Karl, and Marius were all connected to the shipyard in Holet on Norddyrøy, and worked as boat builders. The youngest, Adolf, Bjørn's great-grandfather, eventually moved to Stranda on Sørdyrøy. Some of the descendants of these five brothers still live on Frøya and Hitra, but they are also scattered across the country.
The overview is approximately 330 pages long and contains between 300 and 400 images. A total of 703 direct descendants of Anna and Ole Andreas Kristoffersen Hullet are listed, divided into 8 children, 103 grandchildren, 190 great-grandchildren, 258 great-great-grandchildren, 132 great-great-great-grandchildren, and 15 great-great-great-great-grandchildren.
-I have come into contact with many nice people who have helped me with names and pictures. I am not getting rich from this, but I am getting rich in conscience, knowing that I have made a solid effort for our descendants, concludes Bjørn Boge in Moss.
