There has been sporadic collection of genealogical material, but there has never been a strategy behind this work. Now, however, it looks as if Hadsel municipality will also have its family history in print. The print run is estimated at 1500 books.
On Thursday, Hadsel municipal council adopted the following:
- A family history will be produced for Hadsel municipality based on the model used in Bø municipality. The time period should be 1650-1950.
- A foundation will be established that will be responsible for the actual work. The establishment of the foundation will be presented as a separate matter.
- The finances are to be managed in their entirety by the foundation.
Hadsel already has two cultural histories: «They built the country» from 1995 and «We build on» from 2000.
