On May 20, volume 3 of Brønnøy bygdebok will be launched. The book covers the farms and family history of Ytre Torget, Helløya, Toft, Nordhus, Kvaløya, Fjellsøya, Saltermarka, Sauren, Rødhylla, Bolvær, Lille Torgnes, Store Torgnes and Varholmen.
The book, which is just under 600 pages long, tells the story of the outer part of the municipality and several hundred years of history from the island farms.
Brønnøy bygdebok has been published every two years since 2009 and work is already well underway on the fourth volume, which will take a closer look at Brønnøysund.
