Genealogy can often reveal surprising and sometimes disturbing information about a person's ancestors. A recent study showed that about two-thirds of genealogists have experienced strong negative emotions such as sadness or anger through their hobby. On the other hand, almost all respondents had experienced strong positive emotions such as joy or pride.
