Bygdebok for Lindås started with Volume 1 Myking parish, which was published in 1981. In 2000 came Volume 2 with Lygra and Hundvin parishes. With the publication of Volumes 3 and 4, the project with farm and ancestral records for the old Lindås municipality is now complete, i.e. as the municipality was before it was expanded in 1964. Volume 3 contains around 800 images, giving a varied impression of people, working life and cultural landscapes. The book contains tables, figures, maps and an index. It covers the farms Spjeldneset, Hauge, Haugsmyr, Marås, Brunnsland, Træland, Nedre Skodvin, Revsdalen, Øvre Skodvin, Hetlehovda, Løtveit, Gaulen, Våge, Fjellsenda, Lindneset, Vadbu, Fjellanger, Haukås, Holmås, Fonnebost, Kolås and Lindås Prestegard. The book starts with the first written sources we have for the 14th century. The sources are very sparse before we get to the second half of the 16th century. The series of users mostly goes from then onwards. From the end of the 17th century, it is possible to find out the family connections, so that genealogical tables can be set up that go back to this time. The information in the book has been entered up to 2008. The author Arvid Skogseth is from Steinkjer, born in 1952. He graduated with a master's degree in history from the University of Bergen in 1994. In 1997 he published Fedje og Folket, gards- og ættesoge for Fedje. From 2000 to 2006 he published Austrheim i fortid og nutid (Austrheim in the past and present) in four volumes, a general village history and three volumes of farm and family history.
