Now 6626 car owners and their cars from the Kongsvinger tracts, which rolled on Norwegian roads in 1962, are searchable on Slekt1.
More and more car books are becoming searchable on Slekt1, our latest addition is “Who owns the car? Car register for Kongsvinger police district as of May 1, 1962”.
Who owns the car? Kongsvinger 1962 contains all cars that were registered in Kongsvinger as of May 1, 1962. The cars belonged to several places in Hedmark.
The book has now been added to the Find Genealogy service here on Slekt1, which now contains over 104,000 cars and car owners from 1916, 1922, 1925, 1935, as well as Kongsberg 1947 and Kongsvinger 1962. In addition, parts of the car book from Møre and Trøndelag 1936 are ready.
We are now working on preparing the car book for Aust-Agder 1933 and the car book for Møre og Romsdal 1959.
There are a number of car books from Norway published before and after World War II. Unfortunately, few have been preserved in library collections, and many are therefore only found in private collections. If you have one of the earlier published car books from Norway, we would be interested in hear from you.
