What happened to Evelyn's family?

On Kjerringøy, north of Bodø, where Evelyn Johannessen lived throughout her adult life. This is also where the hunt for Evelyn's heirs begins.

As a mentally handicapped person, Evelyn had her challenges, and she may also have been affected by her upbringing. For example, she couldn't read, but she was well known for her daily walks in the local area with regular stops.

Evelyn lived at “Bo-godt” for the last 30 years of her life, before she died at the age of 87. At “Bo-godt”, Tarjei learns that it was an aunt in “Steigen”.

It can be a useful track since it is clear early on that she had children of her own.

There is little information to be gleaned about Evelyn's family, so little in fact that Tarjei finds it almost mystical.

There are two clues from Kjerringøy: the aunt on Skjervøy and that Evelyn worked at a nursery in Bodø.

Knowledge about the parents is not available in Kjerringøy, Kai-Samuel must find this knowledge from the archives.

Here he finds both his mother and her parents (Evelyn's grandparents). In the archives, Kai-Samuel has found considerably more aunts (and uncles) than were known on Skjervøy.

Over 25 years, Evelyn's grandmother has had 16 children, 12 of whom survived. This is only Evelyn's mother's side. In other words, there are a huge number of potential heirs.

In the archives, Kai-Samuel also finds documents that show that there has been a paternity case about who Evelyn's father was. The outcome of the paternity case will also affect who gets to inherit, despite the fact that today we have DNA tests that could add more facts to an old paternity case.

For the final verdict on whether or not Tarjei Strøm and Kai-Samuel will be able to find heirs to Evelyn's 1.5 million, watch episode 3 of Unknown Heir.
