4.5 million was the amount the municipality was supposed to support the work with, but as the project has been delayed, the costs have increased. Now the museum is demanding to withdraw from the old agreement, without financial obligations.

Since 1989, only one volume has been delivered to Nord-Aurdal municipality, which was printed for the tidy sum of NOK 250,000. A sum that Olaf Nils Diserud, from the municipal council, instead wanted to spend on a swimming pool, street lights and short-term places at Aurdalsheimen.

The municipality is now demanding financial compensation for the failed village book collaboration. Valdresmusea AS, on the other hand, believes that the handover of all collected raw material to the municipality is a good enough conclusion to the 20-year «collaboration».
