Following the successful pilot project in which a double murder in Linköping was solved using genetic DNA and searches of DNA submitted by genealogy enthusiasts, the Swedish police wanted to make this a standard investigative method. However, it now appears that they will have to wait for a change in the law before they can introduce the new method.
