Gold occurs everywhere on earth, even the sea contains gold. It is found in solid rock, in sand and gravel along riverbanks and at the bottom of former riverbeds. Throughout history, gold has been synonymous with prosperity and happiness, and many people have sacrificed their lives and health in search of gold, including Norwegians.
