Vefsn local history book with new volume

Vefsn bygdebok volume 6C, which is a special volume, deals with the farm history of Nedre Susendal, Ørjedal, Unkervatn and Skardmodalen.

The author, Leif Elsvatn, has previously co-written volume 3 of Helgeland's history and volume 6B of Vefsn bygdebok. He tells Helgeland Arbeiderblad; «For each farm, I've tried to find things that captivate people, most often legends, and legends can very well be true after all.»

It took a total of four years to write the village book. Important sources included church records, the cadastral database from the latter half of the 19th century, as well as reports and conversations with older people from various farms.

Despite the fact that only a few months have passed since the launch of Vefsn bygdebok volume 6C, the author has already started work on a new book. The new book will focus on the farms on the east side and north end of Røssvatn.
