In 1925, 413 cars were registered in Vest-Agder, ten years later the number had increased to 1,766 cars.

Among those who owned a car at the time of these two registrations is the painter Marcelius Førland. He is listed in both 1925 and 1935 as the owner of a Ford. In Norges bilbok 1935 we can also read that the Ford was a 1922 model, but since the Ford in 1935 has a different registration number than the Ford he is listed with in 1922, it is probably two different Fords.

In 2010, NRK ran a story about a Ford previously owned by Marcelius Førland.

In the clip, it appears that Førland rebuilt his old T-Ford, which again may indicate that it is actually the same car.

Car books can be a fantastic addition to family history and tell us something about the world around our relatives. It varies somewhat from car book to car book what was registered, so if you are lucky enough to have relatives registered in several car books, you can follow them and gain a broader understanding of the relatives and the cars.

The car books that are now searchable in the Find Genealogy service here on Slekt1 now account for over 75,000 registrations. In addition, you can also search in some other collections. This means that the possibility of finding your family name is constantly increasing.

Here you can search using the advanced search function in Bilboka 1925.

Here you can search using advanced search in Norway's vehicle register for 1935.

Here you can search the entire Finn Slekt service, with a somewhat simpler search.
