Recently, Slekt1 completed the transcription of Oppland in Bilboka 1925 and Norges bilbok 1935. You can now quickly find out if you have relatives in eastern Norway who were among Norway's first car owners.
The areas Oslo city / Kristiania, Østfold, Akershus, Hedmark and Oppland are already searchable for 1922, 1925 and 1935.
The number of car owners more than doubled in these areas over the ten-year period from 1925 to 1935.
The illustration above shows the much-loved Crown Prince Olav. Here he is photographed in July 1927 by the famous photographer Anders Beer Wilse.
Crown Prince Olav stands with his 1924 model Fiat, which he had received three years earlier as a 21st birthday present.
The car had registration number A3 and a quick search in the Norwegian car book from 1935 shows that Crown Prince Olav's father had taken over registration number A3, then with a car of the Minerva type.
Crown Prince Olav is registered in Norway's 1935 car book with a Lincoln 1927 model, with registration number C1.
Here you can search the entire car book from 1922
The car books from 1925 and 1935 has been partially transcribed and new counties are being added throughout the spring.
We are also in the process of transcribing the register of car and motorcycle owners in 1916.
