The book covers the areas of Homsvik, Frivoll, Eskeland, Kige, Omland, Tregde, Mønnesland, Ousland, Tofte, Sti, Jåbekk, Østerland, Malmø salmon fishery and Skinsnes.

The launch events were on December 11 at Omland skolehus and December 16 at Buen kulturhus. The book is available for purchase at the municipal libraries in Mandal, Øyslebø and Kulturtorvet at Vigeland at a price of NOK 700. When purchasing volume 4, previous editions are offered at a reduced price.

This volume is over 570 pages long and contains extensive genealogical information, illustrations and articles that provide insight into the historical living conditions of the coastal people.

Author Paul Sveinall has prepared the basic script and introductions, while Knut Lindseth has updated genealogical information and property history, and acted as picture editor. Håkon R. Sødal has been editor and contributed with cultural history sections.

Work on the village books for Halse and Harkmark began in the 1920s, and many local contributors have gathered information that has been crucial to the project. Good sales of this volume are intended to support the completion of the next volume, which will cover the farms between the Mandalselva river and the border with Holum in the east and north.
