There were 7,710 registered cars and motorcycles in Møre, Sør- og Nord-Trøndelag as of May 15, 1936. Now you can search them all here on Slekt1, along with over 100,000 other cars and car owners from the same time.
Recently we finished indexing the “Handbook for motorists and motorcyclists in Møre, Sør- og Nord-Trøndelag 1936”. This has resulted in the collection «Cars in Møre and Trøndelag 1936«.
This now makes it possible to search for cars and their owners from Møre og Trøndelag by name and job title of car owner, address (location), car brand (factory), type (taxi, car, etc.).
It is also possible to quickly get an overview of all cars that were registered in Møre, Nord-Trøndelag and Sør-Trøndelag, respectively, or limit the search to the various police offices where the registration was made.
Perhaps it's more fun to be able to look up a vintage car you pass on the road? Then you can enter the registration number and quickly see who the owner was in 1936, what make it is and what it was used for in 1936.
Through our common search for all car books that have been indexed to date, you can eventually also retrieve the history over time for registration numbers. With a little flexibility in your search, you can also do this for individuals, even though the names may be spelled differently in the various registrations.
The joint search now includes the following collections:
- The car book 1916
- Car book 1922
- Car book 1925
- Car book for Aust-Agder 1933
- Norway's car book 1935
- Cars in Møre and Trøndelag 1936
- Cars in Kongsberg 1947
- Who owns the car? Kongsvinger 1962
These sessions are part of the service we have called «Find family» which also includes these collections:
- Falstad school home 1895-1917
- Prisoners in Östersund 1810-1900
- Buried in Stavanger
- Jämtland field hunters 1645-1901
- Patients at Kurhuset in Östersund 1817-1866
The illustration above shows the Mølsbygd team on a trip in the summer of 1935. The closest car is a 1920 Mercer and was registered as a coach that year. The following year, it was still owned by the Mølsbygd team, but now as a rental car. Photo: Anders Beer Wilse / National Library of Norway.
